Woman in her seventies suffers serious injuries after collision with moped

A pedestrian who collided with a moped in Wokingham is in hospital with serious injuries.

The woman in her seventies was taken to hospital after a moped with a Papa John's delivery box on the back collided with her.

The incident occurred on Tuesday 29 November at around 6:45pm, on Reading Road near to Holt Lane.

The woman remains in hospital.

A 22-year-old man, from Camberley, Hampshire was arrested on suspicion of driving with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specified limit. He has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer, PC Jamie Payne, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please come forward.

“We’d also ask anyone who may have been in the local area around the time of this incident who has a dash-cam to please check any footage in case it may have captured what happened.
