Woman charged with attempted murder in connection with Basingstoke collision

A woman has appeared in court charged with offences including attempted murder in connection with a collision in Basingstoke.

Emergency services were called at 11.03pm on Thursday 7th November to a report that two women in their 40s had been hit by a car on Bennet Close.

One of them suffered a serious injury to her knee and the other suffered a serious injury to her ankle. Both women were taken to hospital to receive treatment.

It was also reported that two women in their 30s had been assaulted. One suffered injuries to her face.

Lucy Povey from Coleman Close, Basingstoke, has since been charged with attempted murder, section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The 34 year old appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court today (Saturday 9 November) and has been remanded into custody.

She will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday 4th December.
