A railway line which links Berkshire with Surrey is to close for a week for engineering work.

Network Rail will be laying 800yds of new track on the other side of the 174 year old Black Potts Railway Bridge which crosses the Thames on the line between Windsor and Eton riverside and Staines.

Windsor and Eton Riverside is one of two railway stations serving the Berkshire town and links through to Waterloo. During the closure there'll also be no service from Wraysbury, Sunnymeads and Datchet. Trains will instead terminate at Staines and be replaced by a bus shuttle.

SWR also announced that on Saturday the 22nd there'll be no services between Hounslow and Virginia Water and on Sunday the 23rd no trains between Hounslow and Ascot and Woking.
