Following the hot weather of the last couple of weeks, and the peaks of Monday and Tuesday, we're likely to get some rain tomorrow (Friday 22nd July).

It's much needed for the gardens, but we are warned that we could get some very heavy and thundery downpours.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for much of central Southern England, the South West and parts of Wales.

It's in effect from 10.00am and 10.00pm.

We can expect up to 50 millimetres of rain within a few hours, if we get the slow-moving showers where we are.

The warning from the Met Office also says we can expect:

  • Spray and sudden flooding which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
