Local residents are being invited to the University of Reading's Autumn Community Forum, taking place on Whiteknights campus on Thursday evening (20 November).

Hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Van de Noort, the event is an opportunity for residents to find out more about the University and Reading Student Union's activity within the local area, share their views and connect with University staff.

This special edition event will include a panel discussion with representatives from the University, Reading Students' Union, Thames Valley Police, Reading Borough Council and Wokingham Borough Council.

Guests will have the opportunity to present their questions to the panel, which will be chaired by Lorraine Briffitt, CEO of Connect Reading. The University works with Connect Reading to strengthen its local engagement, identifying opportunities where its expertise and resources can benefit cross-sector organisations.

Unique

Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the University of Reading, said: "We're excited to welcome local residents to our Autumn Community Forum. This special panel edition brings together key representatives from across the University, students’ union, local councils and Thames Valley Police, providing a unique opportunity for direct dialogue on the issues that matter most to our community.

"These forums are invaluable in strengthening our relationships with local residents, fostering collaboration and ensuring we work together for the benefit of everyone in the area."

The Autumn Community Forum will take place at Eat At The Square, on the Whiteknights campus, between 6-8.30pm.

This free event includes a hot buffet and refreshments and is open to anyone in the local community.

Registration is essential and tickets can be booked online.
