The University of Reading has set up a new research unit in Kuwait in partnership with the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association.

Signed in June, the agreement aims to advance pharmaceutical practices through joint research, student exchanges, and workforce training.

The unit will focus on pharmacy practice and health services research, with teams in both countries running studies, sharing expertise, and applying for joint grants.

Dr Mamoon Al Deyab, director of the new unit, said the goal is to make “everyday pharmacy care safer and better” while strengthening skills in Kuwait and Berkshire.

Dr Ahmad Taqi, chair of the association, said the partnership will boost the number of specialist pharmacists in Kuwait and support evidence-based research.
