A 19-year-old man has died unexpectedly at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Hampshire Police have confirmed.
Officers were called at 8.23am today (2 July) after concerns were raised for the man’s welfare. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police have informed his next of kin and are providing support to the family.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said, “His death is being treated as unexpected, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A spokesperson for Hampshire Hospitals said: “We are deeply saddened by today’s incident and our thoughts are with the individual’s loved ones.
“Every effort is being made to support staff that have been affected.”
