Two men assaulted in Reading

Police say victims haven't come forward despite being injured

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in Reading.

Three people were seen confronting each other in Beresford Road last Thursday lunchtime - two men were then seen running in opposite directions on the Oxford Road.

One was then involved with a further altercation near Western Elms Avenue pharmacy.

The offenders are described as white men, wearing high visibility clothing.

The victims have not come forward but it is believed they were assaulted and sustained facial injuries.

Police say a 29-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and released under investigation.

PC Eric Harcup, of the Incident and Crime Response team based at Reading, said:

“I am looking for witnesses who saw the altercations, and those involved, to come forward to provide any information they may have. I’d also like to speak to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the offence who may have captured the incident on their dash-cam footage.”
