Two women seriously injured in head-on crash

Thames Valley police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision in Bracknell.

At just before 7.15pm on Monday (16/9), there was a head-on collision between a silver Vauxhall and a green Peugeot on Forester’s Way between the roundabouts for Crowthorne and Broadmoor Hospital.

The driver and passenger in the Peugeot, a woman aged in her sixties and a woman aged in her forties, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital, where they remain at this time.

The driver of the Vauxhall, aged 21 and from Woking, also sustained injuries and was treated in hospital, but has since been discharged.

He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

He remains in police custody.

Investigating officer PC Ben Taylor of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road just before 7.15pm on Monday.

“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage that captured the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
