Two men charged after knife incident in Basingstoke town centre
Court appearance follows early-morning arrests
Two men have been charged following a knife incident in Basingstoke town centre.
Police were called at 4.55am on 10th January after CCTV operators reported that a man had been threatened with a knife in the Seal Road area.
Officers attended the scene, arrested two men, and discovered two discarded knives nearby.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Jordan Bell, 28, of Worting Road, Basingstoke, has been charged with threatening a person with a knife or sharply pointed article in a public place.
He has also been charged with assaulting a police constable during an incident at the Northern Police Investigation Centre in Jays Close later that morning.
Charlie Keay, 24, of Erskine Road, Winchester, has been charged with two counts of possession of a knife or sharply pointed article in a public place.
Both men are scheduled to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today, 12th January.
