Three charged over Reading murder

Three people have been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Reading following the death of a man in Tilehurst last weekend.

23 year old Abas Khan, of Helmsdale Close in Reading, has been charged with a single count of murder and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Two boys aged 16 and 17, have also both been charged with a count each of murder and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent.

They are due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court today.

It follows the death of 26 year old Raheem Hanif at Dulnan Close in Tilehurst last Saturday evening (6 February).

On Wednesday (10 February) a 16-year-old boy appeared in court charged with a count of murder and a count of grievous bodily harm with intent.

No pleas were entered and he was remanded to youth detention until his next hearing on 12 March at the same court.

Four other men, two aged 25 and two others aged 21 and 22, have been arrested in connection with the investigation and released on bail.
