Police have described how a routine stop check on a car in the Tilehurst suburb of Reading led to the arrest of a wanted man.

Police say the Saab 9-3 was stopped for not having insurance, and then it transpired the driver was only on a provisional licence with no L plates.

They say further checks revealed the passenger was wanted on a warrant and was arrested.

The driver was reported to court for no insurance and driving illegally.

His car was also seized.

In the same post Police revealed they stopped three vehicles for speeding at more than a hundred miles an hour on the M4 between Reading and Newbury.

It included a motorcyclist who was stopped doing 104 mph and told them he was “trying to make up for lost time due to road diversions”.

Police said all three drivers / riders had been reported straight to court.
