A man has been sentenced multiple incidents of sexual assault in Slough.

Harrison Mwangi, aged 18, of Downing Path, Slough, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison at Reading Crown Court.

Mwangi was also sentenced to a sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order, both for five years.

He previously pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault by touching, two counts of theft and one count each of engaging in sexual activity with a child and attempted theft at the same court on 29 July.

Between January and June this year, Mwangi approached females in parks across Slough pretending to want to interview them for his studies. He then sexually assaulted the victims.

The victims then tried to take a photo of Mwangi for evidence, so he stole two phones and attempted to steal a third.

He was arrested on 23 June and charged the following day.

Predator

Investigating officer Detective Constable Gemma Thompson, based at Slough Police Station, said:

“I would like to thank the victims in this case for coming forward and commend their bravery during this investigation.

“Mwangi is a predator who thoroughly prepared for each of his crimes. He came up with an elaborate story which encouraged victims to trust him.

“He betrayed this trust for his own sexual gratification and his selfish actions have had a lasting impact on his victims.

“I hope that his sentence demonstrates that reports of this nature are taken seriously and will be thoroughly investigated.”
