Sunshine and high temperatures for Berkshire and North Hampshire

It follows a dull and cool August

The Met Office says highs today across Berkshire and North Hampshire are forecast to soar to 27°C with blue skies and sunshine after this morning's fog and mist clears.

It follows the dullest August since 2015 - and the coldest since 2017 - according to the University of Reading's weather station.

Tuesday and Wednesday also sees highs into the late twenties, and warm lows in the late teens.

From Thursday we can expect cooler, unsettled weather with cloudy conditions and showers.

The Met Office five day forecast for the South East:

Today:

Any early fog and mist will soon clear to allow a fine and dry day with light winds and plenty of sunshine. Becoming very warm or even feeling hot in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 28 °C.

Tonight:

A fine evening with plenty of residual sunshine. Remaining dry with light winds and largely clear skies overnight, leading to a few mist and shallow fog patches. Mild. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Tuesday:

Another fine and dry day with light winds and large amounts of almost uninterrupted sunshine. Feeling very warm or even hot. Becoming breezy along the south coast during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Dry, sunny and hot on Wednesday. Showers spreading erratically northeastwards overnight to become rather cloudy and less warm on Thursday, with further showers. Dry and sunny on Friday but breezy.
