Woman seriously injured in Henley by storm Eunice flying debris

A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by debris that was blown off a building in Henley.

Emergency services treated the woman in Station Road before transporting her to the major trauma unit at JRH in Oxford.

SCAS spokesman said:

"We received a number of 999 calls around 10:45 this morning all reporting that an adult female had been struck by falling roof tiles/roof materials and sustained serious head injuries on Station Road, Henley-on-Thames.

"We sent an ambulance and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance emergency response vehicle to the incident. Following initial treatment at the scene, the patient has been taken to the major trauma centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford in a serious condition."
