Two arrests after stabbings in Wokingham
Police say two men were attacked as they left the Gig House pub in the town centre
Police are appealing for witnesses to a stabbing in Wokingham.
At around 3am today (13/2), the two victims, both young men, left the GIG House, Denmark Street, to catch a taxi.
They were then involved in an altercation which resulted in both of the victims being stabbed.
The victims suffered stab wounds to the face and neck and were taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment – where they both remain at this time.
A 23-year-old man from Wokingham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A 23-year-old man from Frimley has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place, using threatening/abusive language to cause harassment and attempting to cause GBH with intent.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Yong Chung, based at Loddon Valley police station, said:
“This assault happened in the early hours of the morning and I am confident that someone will have witnessed what happened so I am appealing to anybody who saw this to get in touch with police.
“I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody who was driving in the area and may have dash-cam footage, or who may have any mobile phone footage.
