Police have arrested four people

Four people have now been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Basingstoke.

Police say they were called just after 1am on Tuesday 18 July by the ambulance service following a report of a stabbing in Queen Mary Avenue, Basingstoke.

A man in his 20s suffered multiple stab wounds to his legs and was taken to hospital.

As part of their investigation a 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Basingstoke, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police also arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of helping an offender, and a 28-year-old man from Basingstoke on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
