We're being warned of snow over the next 24 hours affecting parts of Berkshire and north Hampshire.

The Met office has issued a Yellow weather warning for snow and ice lasting until 9am on Thursday.

The Met office say there could be particularly heavy falls south of the M4 and the Highways Agency has issued a severe weather warning.

National Highways Executive Director of Operations, Duncan Smith, said:

"We are well prepared and our gritters have been out in full force since Friday and will continue to treat the roads. We are asking drivers to plan ahead, check the forecast and allow more time for their journeys.”

They're warning of disruption on the M4, M3 and A303.

University of Reading meteorologist Dr Rob Thompson says forecasting snow can be tricky:

"The problem is we're talking about snow falling when it's about 1 degree that sort of number and if it's 2 degrees it'll fall as rain and if its zero degrees it'll be snow. So you only need to get your temperature wrong by 1 degree to get what falls wrong.

"The doubt is rarely will there be any precipitation the doubt is what kind its going to be!"
