Six arrested over Newbury serious assault

They include a 13-year-old boy

Six people including a 13-year-old boy - have now been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Newbury town centre.

The victim remains in hospital and is in a serious condition.

Yesterday, officers arrested a 19 year-old man, 18 year-old man and two 17-year-old boys on suspicion of GBH with intent. They have all been released on bail.

A 36 year-old man and a 13 year-old boy have today (10/5) been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and remain in police custody at this time.

Inspector Al Hawkett, based at Newbury police station, said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing in relation to this investigation.

“Officers will be in the area continuing our investigation and providing a visible presence.

“We are extremely grateful to members of the public who have provided information so far. If there is anyone who is yet come forward we would ask you to please do so.
