Police have charged a Berkshire man in connection with the murder of Shani Warren, whose body was found in a lake in Taplow, near Maidenhead in 1987.

66 year old Donald Robertson, formerly of Slough, is also accused of the kidnap and rape of a 16 year old girl in the Farnham Lane area of Slough in 1981.

He's been charged after an investigation by Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Review Team

26 year old Shani Warren went missing on Good Friday 1987 (April 17). Her body was found floating in Taplow Lake the following day.

She had been gagged and bound and died from drowning.

Her broken down car was found in a nearby lay-by, about five miles from Shani's home in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.

Some of her personal belongings were found in undergrowth close by.

Police have been investigating the murder for more than 30 years. Earlier this year a man was arrested in connection with the killing.
