Reading buses warn of delays due to multiple roadworks in the town
Passengers facing delays due to possible diversions
Reading Buses are warning customers that a combination of roadworks around the town are going to cause delays and diversions to some routes.
Planned road resurfacing works and gas main replacement works will affect some of Reading Buses routes in Caversham, Southcote and Woodley areas throughout September.
Reading Buses say these works will affect jet black 1, lime 2, orange 13 and 14, berry 24, yellow 26, royal blue 33 routes as well as school services 83 and 84.
Diversions as well as delays due to increased traffic may affect customers using these routes and customers should allow additional time for their journey.
Usual bus stops may also change due to these diversions and buses will be serving all stops on the diversion routes.
The routes in Caversham will be affected by resurfacing works in Lowfield Road on Saturday 9 September and Monday 11 to Friday 15 September between 8am and 8pm.
Lowfield Road will be closed entirely and Reading Buses say that their berry 24 as well as school routes 83 and 84, will be on diversion in this area.
The Bath Road and Castle Hill resurfacing works started on August 31 and will run until 5 September each day from 8am until 5pm and will affect jet black, lime, yellow 26 and royal blue 33 routes. There will also be works on Bath Road and Berkeley Avenue from Wednesday 6 September until Friday 29 September.
The A4 Bath Road will be closed at the junction with Berkley Avenue in the direction of Calcot.
Finally, there are also works in Woodley affecting orange 13 & 14.
From Monday 4 September until Monday 2 October, buses on orange 13 and 14 will be diverted between Headley Road Circle and Woodley Piazza. Reading Buses wish to thank customers for their patience during these necessary works.
