Road in Reading closed after serious collision

There has been a serious crash in Reading with a road closure in place.

Imperial Way between the Holiday Inn roundabout and the A33 is shut in both directions.

The collision occurred at 5.45am this morning involving a bus and a car.

South Central Ambulance Service have confirmed that the car driver sustained serious head and leg injuries and has been taken to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford while the bus driver sustained minor injuries and has been taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Police say the road will remain closed for some time for investigation work.

They are asking people to avoid the area.
