It's being widely reported that Reading manager Ruben Selles has agreed to join Championship side Hull City as their new head coach.

The 41-year-old Spaniard has been with Reading since the start of last season keeping the club in league one, and leaving Berkshire with his young side in the play-off places.

It's believed the two clubs are now agreeing compensation terms while changes are being made to his international work visa.

Local media in Hull is reporting that his appointment will be announced before Saturday.

Reading fans will be devastated by the loss of Ruben, during his time in charge he defied the odds to create an entertaining young team on the pitch and a great connection with the supporters off it. He had to endure points deductions, redundancies, transfer embargoes and countless cut backs which affected his squad of players. Going to Hull is a gamble but he obviously feels staying at Reading gives him worse odds.

Reading fans has reacted predictably to the news with words like 'last nail in the coffin' and 'disaster' being used.

It's not clear who will takeover the role but academy coach and former player Noel Hunt has stood in before and with the club in turmoil may be offered the position permanently this time.
