Reading West MP among those honoured in King's first New Years Honours
Others include a Lawyer and University of Reading Professor.
A Berkshire MP has been made Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George in King Charles' first New Years Honours.
Reading West MP Alok Sharma has been recognised for his contribution to combatting climate change through his leadership at COP26.
Other Berkshire locals to be recognised include Lissie Harper, the widow of Thames Valley Police Constable Andrew Harper.
Lissie has been made an MBE, following her campaign for tougher sentences for the killers of emergency workers.
She campaigned to give mandatory life sentences to the killers of emergency services workers. PC Andrew Harper was killed in the line of duty in Berkshire in August 2019.
There are several others across Berkshire that are being honoured, representing towns and villages including Newbury, Hungerford and Maidenhead.
University of Reading Professor Paul Glaister has received the award of Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to Education.
Newbury-based Paul David Taylor Freng (Lately Science and Technology Adviser, Ministry of Defence) has also been awarded a CBE, for public service.
Reading Lawyer Dr Ann Olivarius has been made an OBE for services to Justice and to Women and Equality.
Hungerford's Jonathan William Welfare, Founder, Turn2Us, has also been made an OBE for services to Charity and to Disadvantaged people.
MBE's have been honoured to several Berkshire residents, including Wargrave's Robert David John Austen, for services to the community in Wargrave.
Maidenhead's Martin Coombs, Lately Finance Director, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Responsible Officer, Technology Sourcing Programme, Chief Digital Information Officer Group, HM Revenue and Customs has also been made an MBE for Public Service.
Lastly for MBE's, Mary Elizabeth Davies, representing Newbury, Chief Executive Officer, Maiden Erlegh Trust, for services to Education.
Erica Joan Tipton has been honoured with a BEM, for services to charity and to the community in Newbury.
