Man stabbed at central Reading bar

He's in a critical condition in hospital

Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a stabbing in central Reading.

23-year-old Krisma Anthony, of Woolwich, London, was charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a knife blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.

A second man, aged 25, and from London, was arrested earlier today on suspicion of attempted murder and he remains in police custody.

The charges and arrest relates to an incident at 2.04am on Sunday in the Walkabout Bar, Wiston Terrace, Reading, when a man was stabbed during an altercation.

The victim, a man aged in his twenties, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Nick Hind said:

“This incident has occurred in a busy venue.

“We have already identified and spoken to a number of witnesses, but I would ask anybody who has not yet spoken to police to please get in touch with us by calling 101 or online via our website, quoting reference 43240066427.

“The victim’s family are aware and are being offered support at this time.”
