Appeal launched after armed robbery of Reading shop
One of the offenders has produced what appeared to be a black handgun and the other carried a knife
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Reading.
Between 8.18pm and 8.21pm on Saturday (12 July), two masked men have entered the Premier Store in Caversham Road.
One of the offenders has produced what appeared to be a black handgun and the other has produced a knife.
They demanded that the store worker opened the till and cigarette draw, before taking all the bank notes and a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the store.
The victim, a man aged in his twenties, was not injured.
The first offender is described as white, between 20 and 25-years-old, and was wearing a black balaclava with a red design on it and black jeans or trousers.
The second offender is also a while man, aged around 30-years-old and was also wearing a black balaclava with a red design and black jeans or trousers.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Paul Roche from the West Berkshire Priority Crime Team said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim, who, although shaken, was thankfully not injured.
“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident or who may have any information that may assist this investigation to please contact Thames Valley Police.
“I would also ask anybody who was driving in the area and may have dash-cam, to please check this and get in touch if it has captured anything that may help us."
