Rapist from Reading jailed for attacking woman in her sleep

A man from Reading who raped a woman as she slept has been jailed for six and a half years.

27 year old Arron Jackson of Grovelands Road had been invited to the victim's house to watch a film with her.

But she fell asleep and woke up to find him attacking her.

Police have praised the woman's bravery in coming forward.

Detective Constable Kevin Godding of CID based at Reading police station, said:

“I am pleased that Jackson has been convicted and sentenced for his crime.

“The victim has shown great courage to come forward and report this crime and I would like to thank her for supporting our investigation leading to Jackson’s imprisonment.

“I hope that this conviction shows that Thames Valley Police will do all it can to investigate sexual offences and bring offenders to justice.
