Reading's prospective new owners mingled with fans yesterday (Saturday) telling them that the deal to takeover the club should be announced in the next few days.
Rob Couhig told fans on X he'd been joining them as Reading FC took on Wigan Athletic.
On the pitch Reading celebrated their first home game of the season with a two-nil win over Wigan.
Charlie Savage says the testing times at the club have helped make the team stronger. He scored his second goal in as many games yesterday in the two-nil win over Wigan:
"The experiences of last season, especially the first half, when we all came together, players and staff.
"We really are just one family - and we've come through the other side of that.
"This time last season they might have nipped a draw, but we kept a two nil win. And I think that shows how far we've come."
Manager Ruben Selles says the team have worked hard to become more robust:
"We talk about taking that confidence from the pre-season into the season. So let's see how we react under the stress and the pressure.
"It's a good day today but it's just the second game of the season."
