Reading left it late but they signed their first player of the new season late on Friday night.
On Thursday manager Ruben Selles had said a signing wouldn't be possible before the takeover but in a dramatic twist the club said they'd managed to sign 21-year-old Chem Campbell on a four month loan from Wolves.
Announcing the signing they said that the signing had been made possible due to the cooperation of 'all parties including the EFL.'.
Bolster
Speaking of securing the forward's short-term future, Reading Manager Rubén Sellés, said:
"We are very happy to secure the signing of Chem, a player who will bolster our attacking options for the first half of our League One campaign.
He has a come through some of the best Academy setups in the country and has experienced minutes playing at English football’s top level, and we are delighted to bring him to Reading to give him an opportunity to impress and develop further."
Takeover
Just a few minutes before the signing was announced the club said the takeover was still not completed.
Club statement:
"The takeover has involved the transfer of multiple properties, both physical and intellectual. In addition to these assets in question, the stakeholders involved are located across 14 time zones worldwide, with multiple local laws and legislation needing to be abided by."
The statement said the prospective owners had been approved by the EFL and that they would be at the game on Saturday against Charlton.
