A dance teacher has been sentenced for child sex offences in the Woodley area of Reading.

Richard Still, aged 38, of Louden Square, Earley, was sentenced to six years and eight months’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court yesterday (19/12).

Still has also been sentenced to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and indefinite conditions upon his release from prison.

On 13 November, Still pleaded guilty to three counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 16 and one count of causing or inciting child prostitution or pornography.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Rivkah Winetroube, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said:

“The child in this case has been very brave in coming forward and I would encourage anyone who has been a victim of childhood sexual abuse to report it to police by visiting a police station, calling 101 or via our website.

“We always take allegations of this nature seriously, regardless of how much time has passed and a full investigation will take place. Wherever there is sufficient evidence we will seek to bring offenders to justice.”
