Reading have signed winger Paddy Lane from Portsmouth on a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old helped Pompey win secure survival in the Championship last season, totalling 14 goals in 81 games.

He played 22 games in the second division last season, bagging a goal and an assist as the South-coast side finished in 16th place.

Boss Noel Hunt says Lane brings energy, skill, and attacking threat to the Royals.

The Northern Irish international started his career with Hyde United in the non-league, before moving on to Fleetwood Town in 2021 for two seasons.

He brings some much-need EFL pedigree to the promotion chasing Berkshire side.

Last time the Halifax-born winger played in League One, in the 23/24 season, he scored 12 goals and registered 7 assists as Portsmouth won promotion.
