Police issue CCTV as part of Reading attempted rape investigation

Police stress the images are witnesses

Police investigating an attempted rape in Reading are today (16/2) releasing CCTV images of two people who are believed to have important information which could assist the investigation.

It was reported to the force that a woman had been sexually assaulted in the early hours of 6 November 2022 in Queens Walk, Reading, between 2.30am and 3am.

A man, aged 26, has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Natasha Black, based at Reading police station, said:

“We are releasing these images of two specific witnesses who were on Friar Street in the early hours of 6 November.

“They would likely have been on a night out on 5 November.

“We are very keen to locate these two individuals as we believe they may have interacted with the suspect.

“I would like to stress, these individuals are not suspected of any criminal activity, but may have important information to assist the investigation.
