Crew shortages and engineering work is causing disruption to train services on both Great Western Railway and South Western Railway in Berkshire and north Hampshire today.

SWR

There's disruption on the trains today as South Western Railway carry out engineering work.

Maintenance teams will be working on upgrades at Brookwood between Farnborough and Woking.

Replacement buses will be running between Basingstoke and Woking.

GWR

Don't travel unless absolutely necessary - that's the message from GWR today.

They say due a shortage of crews they expect significant disruption with fewer trains running between Reading and Paddington.

The train company says trains that are running will be extremely busy.

Timetables

New winter timetables also come into affect and rail companies are warning some trains could be re-timed.
