Basingstoke MP becomes Dame in Queen's Birthday honours
Dame Maria Miller is rewarded for 17 years of service to parliament and the people of Basingstoke

The MP for Basingstoke Maria Miller has received a top award in the Queen's Birthday honours.
She becomes a Dame, officially known as a Dame commander of the order of the British Empire (DBE) for parliamentary and public services.
The Conservative MP has served Basingstoke since 2005.
