Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to two burglaries at the same shop over consecutive nights in Lambourn.

Firstly, at around 3.25am on Tuesday 28 November, three offenders broke into McColl’s in High Street before forcing open the cigarette display and stealing a quantity of cigarettes.

The offenders then drove away in a grey Land Rover Discovery.

Then, at around 2.50am on Wednesday (29/11), one offender broke into the shop and stole a quantity of cigarettes, vapes and bottles of alcohol before leaving.

On Thursday (30/11), officers arrested a 22-year-old man from Newbury on suspicion of burglary, in relation to both burglaries. He has been released on police bail.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Tyler Miller said:

“I understand there may be some concern caused by this but we are investigating both diligently and have made an arrest in relation to both burglaries.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed either burglary or has any footage, such as CCTV, video doorbell or dash-cam, related to them to please come forward.

“If you live in the area and have security cameras, please check your recordings in case they caught anything which could help us, and the same goes if you have a dash-cam and were driving in the area at the time of either burglary.

“Anyone with information should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43230534330 for the one on Tuesday and 43230536167 for the other.

“Alternatively, provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website."
