Police close road in east Berkshire in murder probe
A 16-year-old boy died in a motorbike crash outside liquid leisure in Datchet

Thames Valley Police are closing a road in east Berkshire as part of an ongoing murder investigation in Datchet.
A report of a road traffic collision outside the Liquid Leisure Centre on the Horton Road was made to Thames Valley Police at 4.07pm on Saturday (19/10).
Police officers arrived at the scene and found a motorcycle had left the road and its two occupants, two boys aged 16 and both from Slough, were seriously injured.
One of the boys died in hospital on Sunday afternoon (20/10).
From 9am Tuesday (22/10), road closures will be in place to allow the Major Crime Unit to carry out necessary enquiries at the scene.
From the west, the Horton Road will be closed from Mill Place and the closure will run to Datchet Road in the east, where the road meets Stanwell Road and Park Lane.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Stuart May of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said:
“I want to give prior warning to the public that these road closures will be in place from 9am tomorrow to allow us to carry out essential enquiries to support our ongoing murder investigation. I appreciate the inconvenience that these road closures will cause, however it is necessary in order to establish the facts in this case. Diversion signs will be in place.
“Further, I want to use this opportunity to again appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have footage from the area on Saturday afternoon to please contact the force as soon as possible.

Arrest
A 56-year-old man from Datchet who was initially arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and subsequently further arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, remains in police custody at this time.
Initially, the reports of the road traffic collision were unclear. It was first reported that a bus was involved in the collision, which was not correct. Further, there was speculation that a police vehicle had been pursuing the motorbike before the collision, which was also untrue.
However, due to enquiries by the force, it was established that a car may have been involved in the collision, and Police are appealing to the public for any information they may have.
