Police issue CCTV images after bar assault in Newbury

Police have issued images of two people officers wish to speak to about an assault in Newbury.

A man pushed another man into the victim, a woman in her fifties, in Walkabout in Cheap Street at around 12.20am on Saturday 22 January this year.

The victim was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment for a fractured wrist but she has since been discharged.

PC Andrew Whitfield, based at Newbury police station, said:

“I am appealing for the people in the images, or anyone who recognises them, to please come forward as I believe they may have information about this assault.

“Anyone with information that can help our investigation should call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference number 43220031625.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
