Thames Valley Police appeal over two separate road collisions in Berkshire
One man died on the M4 while a maintenance worker was injured on the A4 near Reading

Incident 1 - M4 East Berkshire
A motorcyclist in his forties has died after a collision on the M4 in east Berkshire.
The man from Slough died after a collision between his motorbike and a grey Land rover discovery last Friday afternoon at around 3pm between junctions 5 and 6.
At 3.07pm on Friday (7/5), there was a collision between a black Honda motorcycle and a grey Land Rover Discovery.
The collision happened on the M4 Westbound between junctions five and six.
Sadly a man in his forties from Slough, the rider of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
No one else was injured following the collsion.
No arrests have been made.
Investigating officer, PC Roslyn Bonney of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Taplow, said:
“We are investigating this incident in which sadly a man has died, our thoughts remain with his family at this difficult time.
“We are asking any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who has dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch by calling 101 quoting reference 43210195752.
“We would also like to thank the members of the public for their patience as we investigated this incident on scene.”
Incident 2 - A4 near Reading
Police are appealing for witnesses after a road worker was badly injured in a collision near Reading.
It happened on the A4 Theale bypass close to the roundabout with the A340.
At around 9.55pm on Thursday (6/5) there was a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
The road had roadworks and only the left hand lane was in operation, with the right hand lane coned off. The collision occurred at the end of the dual carriageway between the car and a road worker who wearing high-visibility jacket and trousers.
The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition but with significant injuries to his legs.
Investigating officer, PC Joy Jarvis of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said:
“This was a serious incident in which a man has received significant injuries to his legs.
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation and are asking for the publics’ assistance.
“If anyone has witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of the incident we would ask them to please get in touch and call 101 quoting reference 43210194431.”
A 32-year-old man from Oxfordshire has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
