Police appeal after serious collision in Reading

Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after road traffic collision left two people with serious injuries in Reading.

At around 10.40am yesterday (Friday) a blue saloon car, travelling from the town centre, was involved in a collision with two pedestrians on Shinfield Road.

The two pedestrians, one of whom is a man in his thirties remain in a life-threatening condition.

A 31-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, both from Reading, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They remain in custody.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Joe Clamp, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said:

“We have spoken to a number of witnesses following this incident and have obtained some dash-cam footage, however I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened and who has not yet spoken to us, to please come forward.

“Additionally, I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision and who has a dash-cam, to please review any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist our investigation."
