Police in Andover investigate dangerous getaway

Police say a getaway car drove the wrong way round a roundabout and went through a red light

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of shoplifting and dangerous driving in Andover.

Between 12.35pm and 1pm (Monday 26 August), it’s reported that a man stole items from TK Maxx on New Street.

The man is described as;

• Heavy build

• Approximately 5ft 10ins tall

• Bald

• Tanned complexion

• Wearing a black tracksuit top and bottoms

Police say the man then exited the store and got into a vehicle – a black Nissan Qashqai. This vehicle is reported to have then been driven away in dangerous manner by another person.

The vehicle is said to have mounted a kerb, driven the wrong way around a roundabout, missing oncoming vehicles, and through a red light.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed either incident and anyone who can assist them in identifying the two people.

They also want you to get in touch if you have any footage of the incidents, including dash cam, mobile phone or CCTV.
