Police and Crime Commissioners named in Berkshire and Hampshire

Results for the two Police areas were declared last night

The new Police and Crime Commissioners for Hampshire and Thames Valley Police have been announced.

Conservative candidate Donna Jones won in Hampshire with a majority of a 167,000 votes.

She tweeted "Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me Wow I’m literally blown away"

While the PCC for Thames Valley Police will be the former deputy PCC Matthew Barber who won with a majority of just under 80,000 votes.

PCC's are responsible for setting out force budgets, holding chief constables to account, and providing a link between communities and police.
