Reading football club supporter Pippa Sharman was leaving Luton's football ground in November 2022 when she noticed a car crash.

She ran over to find Luton fan David Norman slumped over the steering wheel having suffered cardiac arrest.

Pippa pulled him from the car and after checking his symptoms began CPR.

David survived and Pippa was told without her actions he'd have almost certainly passed away. She said 'she cried for ten minutes' when she found out David had survived.

Pippa is now supporting a British Heart foundation campaign to raise awareness of CPR training by cycling between Reading and Wycombe in the Sky Bet EFL 'Every minute matters' relay.

Pippa told us about the first time she met up David after she'd saved him: "That was brilliant the first time we met, and his son was there and he'd been there on the night of the incident and it was just lovely to give him the biggest hug and know that he's okay now."

Pippa is especially keen that football fans learn CPR pointing out that they often know the people that sit around them "Imagine if something happened to them at a game and you're next to them 'would you know what to do?' If the answer is no get on and learn CPR you could genuinely save someone's life".

The Sky Bet EFL Every Minute Matters Relay, which kicked off on 25th March, is a gruelling 4,000-kilometer 28-day journey that will feature an incredible 72 legs stopping off at each and every EFL club before culminating at Wembley on 21st April. But unlike traditional charity events, the ‘Every Minute Matters’ relay isn’t asking for fans to donate cash but instead is asking fans to give up just 15 minutes to learn CPR.
