Open air cinema returns to Wokingham this summer
Open-air cinema in Wokingham will be returning this summer, organisers have announced.
Go Cinemas will be screening four films at Dinton Pastures Country Park in July and August, as well as street food, a bar, activities such as a bouncy castle and live music from local artists.
The director of Go Cinemas, Andrew Pates, said:
“We are delighted to be back working with Dinton Pastures, it’s going to be our 6th year running these events.
“There will be a mixed bag of films that should cater for all.”
The 500-capacity venue will show the screenings on four Saturdays across the summer, starting at 18:00. Starting from £9, they are the cheapest outdoor cinema tickets in Berkshire.
Kicking off with The Greatest Showman on July 30, this will be followed by Bridget Jones’s Diary on August 13, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story on August 20 and a double bill of Clueless and Legally Blonde on August 27.
Mr Pates added: “These are all local businesses, the bars local, the foods local, obviously I am from Wokingham and the park is council owned and funded so they need that revenue.
“It’s about trying to keep that revenue in the borough, which is important.”
