Man arrested after officers find suspected drugs following pursuit in Oakley

The driver collided with a garden wall and attempted to flee the scene

A man has been arrested after officers located suspected drugs during a fail-to-stop incident in Oakley last night.

Officers were on patrol when they spotted a blue Volvo car, which had been linked to drugs supply, at 11.50pm on Thursday (6 November).

The vehicle failed to stop and turned onto Station Road in Oakley.

The driver then collided with a garden wall and attempted to flee the scene.

Following a short foot pursuit, a man was detained and officers located suspected Class A drugs and drug paraphernalia.

All items, including the vehicle, were seized.

A 23-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of multiple vehicle and drug offences.
