Appeal for witnesses over fight in Newbury

Police in Newbury are asking for help from anyone who witnessed a fight in the town last Saturday night.

It happened at around ten past nine when two groups of men were seen brawling in an alleyway between Courtlands Road and Greenham Road.

A witness says one of the men was carrying a knife.

Investigating officer PC Malcolm Miller, based at Newbury police station said:

“I am appealing for any further witnesses of this incident, or anyone who has any information, to please get in touch.

An 18 year old man from Newbury was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and drug possession, and has since been released under investigation.
