A new purpose-built staff health & wellbeing campus is now open at The Royal Berkshire Hospital.

The Oasis Centre offers a weights room, cardio room, relaxation lounge, kitchen, two quiet rooms, two activity rooms, a meeting room and a TV room as well as the large gardens, which are all free for staff and volunteers to use.

Steve McManus, RBFT chief executive, said: “It’s wonderful to finally open the doors to this incredible facility for our staff and volunteers. It gives us great pride to be one of the first Trusts in the country to have these facilities available for our workforce. We have already seen hundreds of our staff come through the doors and enjoy these new facilities. Our staff have worked so hard over the last two difficult years and their health and wellbeing matters greatly to the Trust. Being able to provide these facilities for our staff, based on what matters most to them, is a wonderful way to show our appreciation of all their hard work.”

The centre was officially opened by Sir John Madejski yesterday (12 October).
