Over 340 new build homes approved in Wokingham
They'll be built south of the Reading to London Waterloo railway line
A huge project for more than 340 homes has been given the go-ahead south of Wokingham.
Full planning permission has been secured for a mix of private and affordable homes south of the Reading to London Waterloo railway line.
A total of 343 homes will be built as part of the South Wokingham Strategic Development Location (SDL), which will see around 1,400 homes constructed alongside new roads, green spaces, and community facilities.
Permission has been granted for ‘Parcel R11’ of the SDL, on land situated off Waterloo Road, just south of the Eastern Gateway roundabout linked with William Heelas Way.
The detailed plans have been approved by Wokingham Borough Council’s planning department.
Of the 343 homes, 65 per cent will be for private sale, and 35 per cent will be designated affordable, supporting a long-term vision for balanced and sustainable communities.
The project, that has been dubbed ‘Holme Meadows’ will be delivered in a joint venture between housebuilding consortium the Vistry Group and Kier Property.
Construction is scheduled to begin this autumn with first completions expected in the summer next year.

The developers have claimed the new homes will be designed to meet local demand, combining quality, sustainability, and a strong sense of place across both the private and affordable tenures.
