Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation in Slough.

At around 10.31am on Thursday (30/1), officers responded to a sudden, unexpected death in Furnival Avenue.

Sadly, the body of a 54-year-old man was found. His next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

On Saturday (2/2), a homicide investigation was launched.

A 46-year-old man and a 54-year-old man, both from Slough have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They both remain in custody at this time.

Known to each other

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart May said: “Firstly, I’d like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the man who sadly died.

“I also understand the concern that this may cause within the community, but we believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim and suspects were known to each other. We do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.

“A scene will remain in place as we continue to carry out our enquiries and we thank the community in advance for their patience as our officers continue their work.

“I would encourage anyone who does have concerns to please speak to a uniformed officer in the area.

“If anyone has information that may assist our investigation, please get in touch by calling 101 or make an online report, via our website, quoting 43250048919.

“Or, if you do not wish to speak to the police you can anonymously contact the independent Charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
