Security operation ramps up ahead of Royal funeral in Windsor
Mounted Police now patrolling the town
Mounted Police have joined the security operation in Windsor ahead of Saturday's funeral for the Duke of Edinburgh.
Thames Valley Police are responsible for security and have been carrying out vehicles checks and using sniffer dogs throughout the week to ensure the safety of people in the town.
Police say the Mounted Section is patrolling the town centre, along with the surrounding area, to help provide reassurance to the public, local residents and businesses.
Police have codenamed the security measures as 'Operation Bridge' and say as well as the visible patrols they are involved in not so public activity.
Horses are not the only animals to work for the Police earlier this week the force issued pictures of their sniffer dogs in action.
Vehicles checks have also been taking place using ANPR technology to identify vehicles.
