Motorcyclist dies in crash near Andover

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident in Andover.

At 7.17pm Police were called to the A3057, Winchester Road, where the incident took place.

A three-wheeled black Yamaha motorcycle was travelling north along Winchester Road towards Andover when it left the carriageway between Norman Court Lane and the A303 after exiting a right-hand bend.

The driver, a 67-year-old local man, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers investigating the incident believe he may have been travelling from King's Somborne.

PS Chris Thompson, who is leading the investigation, said:

“We believe there may have been a lot of motorcycles on the A3057 around the time of the incident.

“We’d like to speak to anyone who saw a three-wheeled motorbike fitting this description that was travelling between King’s Somborne and Andover.”
